My youngest daughter's name is Gretchen, so we were intrigued by the title of Gretchen's theme...we listened, and we loved it. Will you be touring the Chicago area anytime soon?

Yes, I'll be there with my Gretchen, songstress Gretchen Peters, on April 13, at the Old Town School of Folk. Hope to see you there!

I know Max Walsh from Jamestown. He is a trust fund dead beat dad. Barry, you are lucky you are not related. His Birth name was Donald.

OK. A double negative - trust fund, dead beat dad...you're right - glad I'm not related!

If you live in CA I will be touring out there in February with my wife, singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters. Check my tour schedule to see if we're anywhere close by you.
And, Happy New Year! bw

Do you really know Max Walsh in Jamestown, RI? I do.

Hi Tess - Actually, a vicious rumor was started about Max. I don't know him! Even though I do have relatives in RI, Max doesn't ring a bell. But seriously, tell him hello for me. Someday we'll probably run into each other.

Barry,

How is it I haven't signed this guestbook 'til now?

Thank you for the hours of enjoyment your music has provided, your generosity of spirit and talent, and for just being a damn fine human being.

See you soon!

Thanks Kevin-
I think we'll be playing up in your neck of the woods next year.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

I am a 55 year old who has only been playing the piano for 2 years. I have a love for, I guess you can call it non-traditional music. Your music just touches my soul and I love it. I am especially fond of The Crossing, Exeter Cathedral, and the Crone. When I first heard The Crone on Whispering Radio, I just had to find this music. I look forward to more. All the best, a Huge Fan.

Was the "Kozloski" farm and the "rat-castle" part of your Oregon experience? If so, I remember you! - North

Yes, they were part of my Oregon experience. I was 19 when I first went out there.

Thanks Dana- we always have a great time out there. The weather, the wine, the people- we want to move there!

Barry - What a nice surprise to find your music. I was lucky enough to work with you a (hundred) few years back on a number of Michael Spriggs sessions for a couple of albums I released in Canada. You had (have) amazing chops and I learned a great deal from you - great attitude too, will always remember that...Greg.

Hey, Barry, glad to have found you. I'll bet you didn't even know you were lost.

My timing, usually lousy, seems to be good this time, with The Crossing being your first solo effort. Can't believe it's taken you this long.

Wonderful, soul-soothing music.

Yesterday I saw you perform in the Woods (Lage Vuursche) with Gretchen. I was the guy who asked to play Guadaloupe for the second time (shivers were running down my spine). The evening was absolutely gorgious. I've seen about 160 singer/songwriters (groups) play in the Woods, but this evening was the best. Thankx for giving us such beautiful music. And eh, your cd The Crossing is also a great one!!

It was great getting to know you a little on the Cowboy Train, Barry. I'm Irish, too...grew up on my mother's music about the rebellion, potato famine, North vs. South. etc. Result—I'm addicted to melancholy. Oh well.
I got some ok songs out of it. ; )
Take care, good luck on your upcoming tour across the pond, and my best to Gretchen.

I read your personal testimony about Dupuytren's Contracture and the success you had with Dr Eaton with great interest. I made an appointment today to have the procedure done - it's scheduled for Oct 6. Last week I showed my current "hand specialist" Dr Eaton's article. He basically stated he did not do the 'needle aponeurotomy'. I was looking for an alternative to the 6 - 8 weeks of recovery and possibly 3 - 4 months if skin grafting was necessary. Your testimony was very beneficial in convincing me to go with Dr Eaton.

After three months since your surgery are you still happy with the result? My parents were French Canadians and I was born in Northern New Hampshire. I lived
in Lewiston, Maine in the early '70s for a few years. I'm retired living in FL.

You're a very talented musician. Again, thanks for your testimony

I was lucky enough to see you at the Rutledge in Jan. w/Gretchen and Janis Ian, then saw an AMAZING concert in Metropolis, IL in March (I hope that night was as special for you two as it was for us!). Just caught the webcast from the Rutledge today, so now I'm fired up to see you and Gretchen in Mt. Olive, IL in Oct. I haven't stopped playing "The Crossing" since I bought it in March! Gorgeous music. It always sets just the right mood after a hectic day is done. PLEASE record more! Thanks for being such a perfect compliment to Gretchen's brilliance.

What a great show at the Swallow the other night! I never fail to be blown away by your playing. And if there is a nicer guy in this business, I've never heard of em'. And the web site is great!
